Three types of thinking

There are mainly, three kinds of thinkings.

The first kind of thinking is fact. This is based on the relative objective observations. The fact is in the area of so-called 'science', in particular, natural science and engineering. It is vindicated by experiment and evidence. The second is the agreement or consensus. This is very relative, regional, temporal. The typical example of this type of thinking is law or rule in the society. This is not absolutely right or wrong. As it were, it is relative, so it continuously change. The last one, the most problematic, is in the realm of faith or belief. In particular, the belief on the paranormal, or belief on god is a typical example. Most people on the earth have their own belief system.

One of the interesting phenomena that I have found is the people's reaction when they face to the rejection of the thinking which they support. Maybe, most people, except for the engineers and scientists, do not have any specific feeling when any scientific theory is rejected by the new theory and evidence. Moreover, when the new law or rule is enacted, some people might disagree with the new one. However, the most people tend to observe the new one. However, when it comes to belief or faith,  it goes on in the different phase. In particular, when it comes to religion, most believers on any specific god react on the rejection about their religious beliefs harshly. Evenly, they sacrifice people's life to keep their religious belief. Moreover, they have a tendency not to admit the scientific facts. Why do they react? I don't know.

Could prayer resolve our problems? or Could it make us happier?

I hope that people on the Earth behave and think reasonably. The reason based on the logic, observation, & evidence is more reliable way to resolve the problems that we have faced and live peacefully.
